  • Two memories stand out:

    1. I began refereeing 5/6th grade basketball with Mr. Dan Rogers at the old Aurora Middle School. The crowd was tough. But, because we had two referees, we were able to give the kids a fair game.

    2. The 1997 Flood. I came home from college when I found out about it. My father immediately put me to work on clean up. I am proud to say I remembered we had a supply of chlorine at the city pool for disinfecting. I learned a lot about community service and sacrifice during that disaster.

  • My mother is Susan Bentle, daughter of G. Wilson and Virgina Bentle of Bright. My uncle Kenzie Bentle introduced me to the drums.

    Gary Ruwe of St. Leon and my mother were married, I was born, but he tragically died at Brookville Lake when I was about eleven months old.

    My mother remarried to Randy Turner of Aurora who adopted and raised me from age one.

    I married Marisa Selmeyer in 2003, thus becoming an in law to the Selmeyer/Cutter family.

  • I have many attributes and hobbies that make me unique,

    1. I have a degree and passion for history, especially local history. Furthermore, I have a minor in fire science that includes classes in contract negotiations, training, and community risk assessment.

    2. I have a vast knowledge in areas of police, fire, EMS, and utility, and court proceedings.

    3. ‍ ‍I play three different instruments: drums, guitar, and bass guitar, I can also sing passably.
